The Gallery at MIC is a collection of art by Texas women artists from various regions of the Dallas/Fortworth area. A variety of artistic genres are available for your viewing pleasure – jewelry, ceramics, sculpture, mixed media paintings – and are also available to purchase if you desire. Kelli Howie, who is curating the exhibit, has a Bachelor of Arts in Theater and Art from the University of Dallas and a Masters of Fine Arts from Southern Methodist University and has many years of experience in art instruction at both private and public institutions such as the University of Dallas as an adjunct professor, the Booker T. Washington School for the Performing and Visual Arts, and the Visual Expressions Creative Art School. As an independent artist and Civic Cultural Organizer, Kelli works in the creation of images and objects that enhance the human experience. Her art expands from theater costumes, set and prop design to the fine arts including watercolor, oil, ceramics, nature photography and sculpture. Her art will be on display at The Gallery at MIC along with those of these other Texas women: Kelly Pevehouse, Joyce Price, Tina Nohinek, Leslie Ballew, Jackie Rider, Ruth Burns, Mary Cunningham and Linda Gilpin.
If you love the arts or know someone who does, we encourage you to come by the museum to view the spectacular art display. The Gallery will continue to be updated and new pieces will become available throughout the year. A percentage of every purchase goes towards supporting the museum so that we can continue to see future exhibits and events.
