Events at the Museum:

Thursday February 14  from 11:30 to 1:00.  Ladies’ Valentines Day luncheon, cost $10, please RSVP to 972-572-0462.   Featuring guest speaker Angie Hammond and harp music by Carol West.

Explore Engineering, a  free workshop for middle school students and parents, will be held on Saturday afternoons February 16 and 23, with sessions at 1:30 or 2:30 each day. Engineers are needed to develop the tech projects of the future. Students will have fun with a simple hands-on project  and receive general information resource materials (including a list of websites with other projects and information about engineering careers.)  A retired college professor  will be available to talk with parents about affordable community college opportunities.

Saturday February 23 at 7:00pm  .. Potluck dinner and program featuring Brazil.  In the spirit of Carnival, come to celebrate this distinctive culture. Bring an appropriate dish and wear something festive. Dance and music will be included as part of the program.

For a hint of the richness of our pot luck dinner programs, see these pictures and comments about our program on Saturday December 15 at 7:00 PM. featuring the culture of Turkey.  The buffet included authentic Turkish dishes;  the program had informative talks and performance of Turkish folk dancing. At conclusion,  everyone was invited to join a simple dance.

Monthly Cultural Event Schedule Download .  On the 4th Saturday of each month MIC invites anyone interested in learning about and experiencing other cultures to join us for a free movie (during odd months) or a culturally-inspired Pot Luck Dinner (during even months). These events are FREE and Open to The Public. The preliminary 2019 schedule is here, but dinner themes for August, October, and December may change.
