Events at the Museum:

…..We are currently featuring  amazing works by artist Monique Jannette in our gallery. Below is a link to her Bio– You can learn more about the many other paintings and accomplishments of this talented artist.


November 11 – 17 will be a weeklong tribute to World War I. On Sunday Nov.11 we will have an outdoor exhibit of WW 1- era military equipment. On Monday Nov.12 our USO display will open. On Tues. Nov.13 at 2:00pm Dr. Bill White will do a musical presentation honoring Dallas VAMC Patients. On Wed. Nov.14 there will be a pre-school story time. On Thurs.Nov.15 Spring Creek BBQ will provide free lunch to first 100 people to RSVP. On Fri.Nov.16 there will be WW 1 movies at 10am and 2pm. For more details, call 972-572-0462
     In connection with this tribute week, the Museum and Citizens National Bank of Cedar Hill are sponsorsoring an essay contest for students of grades 1-12 on the topic ‘How did Veterans Day come to be?”. Upcoming programs that feature the culture of Turkey:

Saturday November 24 at 7:00 PM. Free film “Desperate Hours”. How Turkish diplomats in France and Rhodes put their own lives at risk rescuing Jews of Turkish origin during the Holocaust. Documentary.

Saturday December 1 at 7:00 PM. Free film “The Eye of Istanbul”. Celebrate the life and work of Armenian-Turkish photographer Ara Guler, who recently passed away. His photos capture the essence of Istanbul over 60 years. Documentary.

Saturday December 15 at 7:00 PM. This month’s pot-luck dinner featuring Turkey. (Note ths is the 3rd Saturday.) Bring a dish reflecting the Turkish culture, or salad, drink, dessert. A short program will follow dinner, featuring tourist promo video and some Turkish folk dancing.

Monthly Cultural Event Schedule Download 2018.  On the 4th Saturday of each month MIC invites anyone interested in learning about and experiencing other cultures to join us for a free movie (during odd months) or a culturally-inspired Pot Luck Dinner (during even months). These events are FREE and Open to The Public.
