For Engineering Week (Feb 20-25) at the MIC, the Southwest Dallas branch of the AAUW (American Association of University Women) will run programs from 11:00 AM to 4:00PM. Museum admssion will not be charged for those attending the event.
At 11:00, the AAUW will have a branch meeting in the Conference Room, featuring a talk on “Sustainability and Engineering for the Future” by Joye Stubblefield, who received her masters in sustainable development from SMU.
From 12:30 to 4:00, there will be engineering activities available. There will be books and posters on engineering in the front lobby and a 20 minute self-directed challenge activity in the Conference Room.
In addition, there will be a 90-minute hands-on workshop by Jaime Hunter, “Understanding Electronics” in the upstairs student work area. This workshop will be available to anyone 12 years of age and older, including parents, and will have sessions at 12:30 and 2:30, with room for 14 people per workshop. The workshop will be $10 dollars a person.
